Base Versus Loaded: 2013 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Five-Door

Here’s a tip about the next issue of Winding Road; you’ll be seeing quite a bit of the Range Rover Evoque in it. In particular, there’ll be a piece of content, starring the five-door Evoque (we covered the Coupe a few months back), that is sure to cause at least a few arguments among our loyal readers.

Until then, though, let’s take a deeper dive into the smallest vehicle to wear the Range Rover badge, the Evoque. The Evoque is available in three different trims: Pure, Prestige, and Dynamic. Pure represents the base (but still amazingly well-equipped) model, while Prestige is the luxury oriented offering and Dynamic has a sportier lean. Both the Prestige and Dynamic are strikingly similar, except for a few very minor areas. Still, the Prestige is slightly more expensive to start (by about $900), while the Dynamic is pricier overall.

Fully optioned, a Range Rover Evoque Dynamic Five-Door will cost $61,370. The thing is, it doesn’t seem like there is anything (save perhaps the awesome Meridian sound system) that the Evoque Dynamic (or Prestige for that matter) has that can’t be optioned on the standard Pure trim. You can get the same twenty-inch wheels, Climate Comfort Package. You can get the nav system and rear seat entertainment system, as well. What do we think readers? Would you rather tick the option boxes on the Pure, or get the twenty-inch wheels, upgraded stereo, and other miscellaneous goodies that come with the Dynamic trim?

I'm not that rich so I'd stick to the base model. Don't think an extra 17k is worth these extra features.

So almost 20k for the loaded one. That is pricey but it does come with a ton of features compared to the base model.
